Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.





2. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.





3. Loosen the spring clamp and separate the breather tube inlet hose from the air cleaner to intake manifold tube.
4. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) vacuum regulator solenoid vent hose from the air cleaner to intake manifold tube.
5. Loosen the spring clamp and separate the bypass air inlet hose from the air cleaner to intake manifold tube.
6. Loosen the three air cleaner to intake manifold tube ring clamps.
7. Separate and remove the air cleaner to intake manifold tube.





8. Unclamp the four Engine Air Cleaner (ACL) clamps.





9. Separate the ACL housing cover from engine intake air resonator No. 2, and remove the ACL housing cover with the MAF sensor attached.
10. If necessary, remove the MAF sensor.





11. Remove the three ACL housing bolts.
12. Separate the ACL housing from the air cleaner intake tube and remove the ACL housing.

INSTALLATION

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
