Power Steering Line/Hose: Description and Operation
The power steering system is equipped with three main hoses; a power steering pressure hose, a power steering return hose and a power steering reservoir pump hose. The hoses are used in combination with tubing to connect the power steering pump to the steering gear. The hoses and tubing are routed through the engine compartment and secured with clamps to prevent noise or damage from vibration. The power steering pressure hose delivers fluid from the power steering pump to the steering gear. The power steering return hose delivers fluid from the steering gear through the power steering oil cooler tube and back to the power steering oil reservoir. The power steering reservoir pump hose delivers fluid from the power steering oil reservoir to the power steering pump.
