Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

A Power Steering Pressure Switch (PSP) is located in the hydraulic line between the power steering pump and the steering gear. The PSP switch sends a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to increase idle speed for idling stability when the demand from the power steering system increases engine load.
