Removal and Installation

Transaxle Assembly:

REMOVAL
The illustration shows the location of the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the VSS electrical connector.
4. Remove the VSS hold-down bracket bolt and VSS hold-down bracket.
5. Remove the VSS from the transaxle.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the VSS into the transaxle.
2. Place the VSS hold-down bracket into position and install the VSS bracket bolt. Tighten the VSS hold-down bracket bolt to 5-7 Nm (44-61 inch lbs.).
3. Connect the VSS electrical connector.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Connect the battery ground cable.
