Three Way Catalytic Converter

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Support the Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC).





3. Remove the two exhaust system flex tube-to-TWC nuts.





4. Remove the two TWC rear bolts.
5. Remove the TWC.
6. Discard the front and rear TWC gaskets.

INSTALLATION

1. Install new front and rear TWC gaskets on the TWC.
2. Position and support the TWC.
3. Loosely install the two exhaust system flex tube-to-TWC nuts and the two TWC rear bolts, ensuring that the front and rear three way catalytic converter gaskets are aligned.
4. Tighten the exhaust system flex tube-to-three way catalytic converter nuts to 43-55 Nm (32-40 ft lb).
5. Tighten the TWC rear bolts to 43-55 Nm (32-40 ft lb).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks.
