Vehicle Speed Sensor/Transducer - Cruise Control: Service and Repair

REMOVAL







NOTE: The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is located on the upper rear portion of the transaxle housing.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the VSS electrical connector.
4. Remove the VSS hold-down bracket bolt and the VSS hold -down bracket.
5. Remove the VSS from the transaxle.
6. Inspect the O-rings for nicks or cuts; replace if necessary.

INSTALLATION

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Tighten the VSS hold-down bracket bolt to 5-7 N.m (45-61 Lb-In).
