Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

OPERATION
The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor detects the intake ambient air temperature and transmits a signal to the powertrain control module.
This signal is used for on-board diagnosis only.

LOCATION
The IAT sensor is mounted in the air cleaner intake tube.
