Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

Vehicle Speed Sensor:

The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is located above the transaxle differential. The VSS generates an AC signal which is sent to the instrument cluster. The signal is converted to a DC signal and used as input to the powertrain control module and the transmission control module.
