Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

NOTE: The Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor, Shift Solenoid (SS) assembly, and line pressure solenoid are hard-wired into the valve body wiring harness and are replaced as an assembly with the valve body wiring harness.

REMOVAL
1. Remove the main control valve body.
2. Remove valve body bolts c.





3. Remove valve body bolts a and line pressure solenoid valve bolt.





4. Remove the SS assembly from the valve body. Discard all the O-rings.

INSTALLATION
1. Install new O-rings on the SS assembly.
2. Position the SS assembly on the main control valve body. Tighten valve body bolts a to 7-9 Nm (62-79 inch lbs.).
3. Install valve body bolts c. Tighten valve body bolts c to 7-9 Nm (62-79 inch lbs.).
4. Install the line pressure solenoid valve bolt. Tighten the line pressure solenoid bolt to 7-9 Nm (62-79 inch lbs.).
5. Install the main control valve body.
