Battery Cleaning
Keeping the battery top clean and dry reduces the need for service and extends battery life. Be sure the cable clamps are tightly fastened to the battery posts. If corrosion is found, disconnect the cables. Clean the clamps and posts with a terminal cleaning brush. Neutralize the corrosion with a solution of baking soda and water. After installing cables, apply a small quantity of Premium Long-Life Grease XG-1-C, XG-1-K, or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B. Apply grease to the battery post to help prevent corrosion.
