Flow of Diagnosis

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the ignition switch.
2. Visually inspect the following components of the ignition switch system:
Mechanical
^ Binding condition - Key does not turn - Key cannot be removed
^ Damaged ignition key
^ Damaged ignition key tumblers
^ Damaged shift cable and bracket
Electrical
^ Blown fuse(s):
30A IGN SW
10A ENG CONT
7.5A AUDIO
20A AUDIO AMP
7.5A ELECTRON
10A AIR BAG
7.5A A/C CONT
15A FUEL PUMP
^ Damaged wiring harness
^ Loose or corroded connections
^ Damaged ignition switch.

3. If fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
