When servicing wheels or tires, the following procedure for matching the tire and wheel must be followed to ensure that the best possible ride characteristics are maintained:1. Before dismounting a tire that is to be reused, mark the tire relative to the air valve location on the wheel.
2. Locate the matching point on a new tire:
^ Many replacement tires as well as original equipment tires are marked for first harmonic matching to the wheel. These marks vary in type and color. Consult the tire dealer for details of the mark identification.
3. Mount the tire on the wheel and line up the first harmonic mark of the new tire or the air valve location mark on the original tire with the air valve location on the wheel.
NOTE: Always replace an air valve that has been in service 48,000 km (30,000 miles).
4. Inflate the tire and balance the tire / wheel assembly.
