Brake Shift Interlock System

1. With the engine running, depress the brake pedal and place the gearshift lever in REVERSE (R).
2. Ensure that the ignition switch cannot be turned to the LOCK position.
3. Place the gearshift lever in PARK (P).
4. Ensure that the ignition switch can be turned to the LOCK position.
5. If the ignition/shift interlock system is not operating as specified, go to Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
