Flow of Diagnosis
1. Verify the customer concern by operating the wiper and washer systems.2. Visually inspect the components of the systems.
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Mechanical
- Damaged wiper pivot arms
- Damaged windshield wiper linkage
- Damaged rear window wiper
- Split, loose, pinched or kinked washer hose(s)
- Clogged/frozen washer hose(s)
- Damaged washer nozzle
Electrical
- Blown fuse:
- 20 A FRONT WIPER
- 10 A REAR WIPER
- 10 A ELECTRON
- Damaged accessory relay
- Damaged connectors
- Damaged wiper motor(s)
- Damaged washer pump(s)
- Broken or loose wiring harness
- Corroded or poor connections
3. Check the windshield wiper pivot arms and linkage for proper adjustment and connection to the windshield wiper motor.
4. Check the washer hoses for proper routing and connections.
5. Inspect the wiper or washer system wiring harnesses and connectors for obvious signs of damage.
6. If the fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
