Handle Effort, Rear Seat Track Adjusting
NOTE: Rear seat track adjusting handle effort can be affected by the positioning of the rear seat tracks. Refer to the removal and installation procedure for rear seat track if rear seat track adjusting handle effort cannot be adjusted to specification following this procedure.1. Remove the rear seat track adjusting handle.
2. Use a torque wrench to measure the rear seat track adjusting handle effort.
^ Torque value is read when seat is first able to move.
^ Rear seat track adjusting handle effort should be 1-3 N.m (13-34 Lb-In).
^ Measure the rear seat track adjusting handle effort at all five locking positions.
3. If the rear seat track adjusting handle effort is not within specification, slide the rear bench seat to the full rearward position.
4. Lift the rear seat cushion floor cover on the back of the rear bench seat.
5. Use a wrench to loosen the locknut on the adjustment assembly.
6. To reduce rear seat track adjusting handle effort, rotate adjuster downward to tighten the rear seat back latch cable.
7. To increase rear seat track adjusting handle effort, rotate the adjuster upward to loosen the rear seat back latch cable.
8. After the correct rear seat track adjusting handle effort is achieved, use two wrenches to tighten the locknut on the adjustment assembly.
