Flow of Diagnosis
1. Verify customer concern by operating the power seats.2. Visually inspect the components of the power seat system.
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Mechanical
^ Damaged lumbar support air hose
^ Damaged lumbar support bag
^ Damaged lumbar support switch
^ Damaged pressure relief valve
Electrical
^ Blown fuse:
- 30A PWR WDW
^ Circuit breaker #2
^ Damaged wiring harness
^ Loose or corroded connections
3. Check the wiring harness for obvious signs of shorts, opens, bad connections, or damage.
4. If one of the power seat position functions (slide, tilt, lift) does not work, check for opens/damage in the pigtail circuit wires coming off the seat back control switch that lead to the front seat adjuster in question.
5. Check the lumbar support system for disconnected, linked, or damaged air tubes/hoses. Also, look for leaking/damaged lumbar support bags.
6. If an obvious cause for malfunction can be found, correct the cause of the malfunction before proceeding further.
7. If fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
