Block Distortion

Inspect the distortion of the top surface of the cylinder blocks in the six directions shown.





Standard distortion for the cylinder blocks is 0.03 mm (0.0012 inch).

Maximum distortion for the cylinder blocks is 0.10 mm (0.0039 inch).

If the cylinder blocks distortion exceeds specification, grind or replace the cylinder blocks as necessary.





The cylinder blocks height measured from the center of the crankshaft main journal to the cylinder head mounting surface should be 227.60-227.70 mm (8.9606-8.9645 inches).

The need for cylinder blocks resurfacing is limited by the amount the cylinder head has been resurfaced.

The maximum combined resurfacing limit is 0.2 mm (0.008 inch).
