Fuel Tank Draining

WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE, CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR ANY OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL-RELATED COMPONENT. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.

REMOVAL
1. Use Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker (Hand Operated) 164-R3201 or Fuel Storage Tanker (Air Operated) 164-R3204, or equivalent, to siphon the fuel through the fuel tank filler pipe.

CAUTION: Siphon fuel from the fuel tank filler pipe first. This will lower the fuel level in the fuel tank to allow siphoning from the relief discharge vent attachment. A check valve is located at the lower end of the fuel tank filler pipe and will not allow a siphon hose to pass through to the fuel tank.

2. Raise and support the vehicle.







3. Loosen the hose clamp at the relief discharge vent hose and slide the hose clamp towards the fuel tank.
4. Separate the relief discharge vent hose from the fuel tank filler pipe.

WARNING: A SMALL AMOUNT OF FUEL MAY SPILL WHEN THIS RELIEF DISCHARGE VENT HOSE IS REMOVED. BE PREPARED TO CATCH THIS FUEL IN A SUITABLE CONTAINER.

5. Drain any remaining fuel in the relief discharge vent hose into a suitable container.
6. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the relief discharge vent hose from the fuel tank.
7. Attach Rotunda Valve Adapter Assembly 310-F001 (164-R3209), or equivalent to Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker 164-R3201 or 164-R3204, or equivalent.

CAUTION: Follow proper procedures for the attachment and use of Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker Adapter Hose 164-R3206, or equivalent, and Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker 164-R3201 or 164-R3204, or equivalent.

8. Insert the entire length of Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker Adapter Hose 164-R3206, or equivalent, through the relief discharge vent opening in the fuel tank, and make sure that the adapter hose tool reaches the bottom of the fuel tank.
9. Turn the flow control lever on Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker 164-R3201 or 164-R3204, or equivalent to the "IN" position and drain the fuel tank.
10. Disconnect Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker Adapter Hose 164-R3206, or equivalent from the relief discharge vent opening in the fuel tank, and make sure that fuel in the adapter hose tool drains either into the fuel tank or into Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker 164-R3201 or 164-R3204, or equivalent.
