Spark Plug: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the distributor to spark plug wires from the spark plugs.

NOTE: Identify the distributor to spark plug wires prior to disconnecting to ease installation.

2. Use compressed air to blow away any dirt from around the spark plug and to prevent any dirt from entering through the spark plug hole.
3. Remove the spark plugs.

INSTALLATION
1. Gap the spark plugs to specification. The spark plug gap is 0.8-0.9mm (0.031-0.035 inch).

NOTE: When replacing the spark plugs be sure to use AGSP-32C or equivalent meeting Ford specifications.

2. Install the spark plugs into the cylinder head. Tighten the spark plugs to 20-29 Nm (14-22 lb ft).
3. Connect the distributor to spark plug wires to the proper spark plugs as noted during removal.
