Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the air cleaner to intake manifold tube from the MAF sensor housing.
4. Unclamp and remove the air cleaner housing cover with the MAF sensor assembly attached.







5. Remove the four MAF sensor assembly nuts, and remove the MAF sensor assembly from the air cleaner housing cover.







6. Remove the two MAF sensor screws and the MAF sensor from the MAF sensor housing.







7. Inspect the MAF sensor housing screen for holes. If the screen is torn, replace the housing.

INSTALLATION
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Tighten the MAF sensor screws to 8-10 Nm (71-88 lb in).
