Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor detects the intake ambient air temperature and transmits a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). This signal is used for on-board diagnosis only. The IAT sensor is mounted in the air cleaner intake tube.
