Cleaning

Clean the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) with a lint-free cloth. Inspect VSS driven gear for chips, nicks or missing teeth. Make sure the housing has no burrs or cracks. If the VSS driven gear is damaged, it is likely the VSS driven gear on the differential case is also damaged and will need replacement.
