Cleaning

As in repairing any hydraulically operated unit, cleanliness is important.
1. Keep the bench, tools, and parts clean at all times.

CAUTION: Do not clean, wash, or soak seals in the cleaning solvent.

2. Thoroughly clean the exterior of the unit with a suitable solvent and, when necessary, drain as much of the hydraulic fluid as possible.
3. Handle all of the parts carefully to avoid nicks, burrs, scratches, and dirt, which could make the parts unfit for use.
