Engine/Transaxle Mount Neutralizing
An abnormal vibration can be caused by a component, such as an engine/transaxle mount. which is acting in a rigid manner because of a distorted or twisted mounting position. As a result, the mount does not absorb vibrations as it should. A grounded or abnormally strained exhaust system and hangers will also lead to this condition. Refer to the exhaust system neutralizing procedure. To neutralize the engine/transaxle mounts, use the following procedures:
1. Loosen the engine/transaxle mount bolts three turns.
2. Key ON, engine running.
3. Shift the vehicle through all gear ranges.
4. Shift vehicle into NEUTRAL (N).
5. Key OFF.
6. Tighten the engine/transaxle mount bolts.
