Lead Terminal

A bond separation of the bus bar terminal can be successfully repaired by using the following procedure:

Obtain the following service kit:

The service kit consists of five individual kits which include the following pieces:
^ One epoxy adhesive bi-pack
^ One application stick
^ One grid line mask
^ One set of instructions

1. The vehicle should be brought inside and permitted to reach 16°C (60°F) or above.







2. Clean the repair area with denatured alcohol.
3. Ensure that the repair material is not beyond the expiration date. If the hardener has crystallized, immerse that packet in hot water until the hardener liquefies.
4. Prepare the epoxy bi-pack:
a. Remove the separation clamp.
b. Thoroughly mix the resin and hardener together by kneading.
c. Cut a corner off of the epoxy bi-pack.
5. Apply the epoxy to the repair area using the application stick.
6. Hold the pigtail terminal in place on the bus bar with an appropriate tool.







7. Use Rotunda Heat Gun 107-R0300 or equivalent to heat the repair area for 1 to 2 minutes at a distance of about 25-50 mm (1-2 inches). This procedure should heat the repair area to approximately 149°C (300°F).
