Removal
Special Tools:
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. NOTE: Mark the position of the hood for proper installation.
Remove the hood.
3. On A/C equipped vehicles, recover the air conditioning system.
4. Drain the engine cooling system.
5. Relieve the fuel pressure.
6. Remove the engine air cleaner outlet tube.
7. Remove the radiator, fan blade and fan shroud.
8. Disconnect the engine electrical connector.
9. Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connector.
10. Disconnect the PCM electrical ground wire.
11. Disconnect the engine ground wire.
12. On A/C equipped vehicles, disconnect the A/C high pressure switch electrical connector.
13. Remove the bolt and position the A/C lines aside.
14. Disconnect the two heater water hoses.
15. Disconnect the fuel lines.
16. Raise and support the vehicle.
17. Remove the starter motor.
18. Remove the oil drain plug and drain the oil.
19. Install the oil drain plug.
20. Remove the pipe bolts.
21. Remove the bolts.
22. Disconnect the transmission electrical harness connector.
23. Disconnect the RH Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen (HEGO) sensor electrical connector.
24. Disconnect the LH heated exhaust gas oxygen sensor electrical connector.
25. Remove the bolt and position the transmission cooling line bracket aside.
26. Remove the A/C line bracket nut and position it aside.
27. Remove the power steering return hose.
28. Remove the power steering pressure hose.
29. Disconnect the Vapor Management Valve (VMV) hose connector.
30. Remove the transmission bolts.
31. Lower the vehicle.
32. Remove the nuts.
33. Remove the nuts.
34. Use the floor crane to raise and remove the engine.
