REMOVAL

WARNING:
^ ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WHEN REPAIRING AN AIR BAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) VEHICLE AND WHEN HANDLING AN AIR BAG MODULE. THIS WILL REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT.
^ AFTER DEPLOYMENT, THE AIR BAG SURFACE CAN CONTAIN DEPOSITS OF SODIUM HYDROXIDE, A PRODUCT OF THE GAS GENERANT COMBUSTION THAT IS IRRITATING TO THE SKIN. WASH YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER AFTERWARD.


1. Remove the front seat.

NOTE: Be sure to read and follow all air bag warnings.







2. Disconnect the power seat switch electrical connector.







3. Remove the front seat cushion side shield rear screw.







4. Remove the front seat cushion side shield screws.







5. Disconnect the front seat cushion side shield.

CAUTION: Use care when disconnecting the seat cushion side shield from the seat cushion frame so the tabs on the seat cushion side shield are not damaged.







6. Disconnect the lumbar support control switch electrical connector.







7. Disconnect the lumbar support adjusting hoses from the adjusting switch.







8. Disconnect the heated seat switch electrical connector.







9. Remove the front seat cushion side shield.







10. Remove the heated seat switch.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Check the restraint system for proper operation.
^ If equipped, prove out the air bag system.
