P0300 - Random Misfire Detected
The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor circuit is monitored by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The test fails if a fluctuation is detected by the PCM from the data received from the CKP sensor.Possible Causes:
- Improper spark plugs
- Insufficient compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve
- An injector circuit is open or shorted
- Injectors
- Intake air leak
- Lack of fuel
- The ignition secondary circuit is open or shorted
- Drive plate
- Front HO2S
- Incorrect distributor rotor
Diagnostic Aids:
Perform a cylinder balance test. All cylinders should respond.
