The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor circuit is monitored by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). From the data received from the CKP sensor, the test fails if a fluctuation is detected by the PCM when cylinder 1 is to fire.

Possible Causes:

- Insufficient compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve
- The injector circuit is open or shorted
- The injector
- Intake air leak
- Lack of fuel
