P0443 - EVAP System Purge Control Circuit Malfunction

The EVAP canister purge valve signal return circuit is monitored by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The test fails when an improper signal is sent to the PCM through the EVAP canister purge solenoid.

Possible causes:
- EVAP canister purge valve circuit shorted or open
- EVAP canister purge valve

Diagnostic Aids:
When the EVAP canister is commanded on 100% duty cycle air should pass freely through the two ports of the EVAP canister purge valve.
