Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
1. Verify the customer concern by operating the electronic audio system with the engine running and the vehicle in and out of motion.2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Mechanical
^ Audio unit physically damaged or misaligned; any controls inoperative
^ Digital audio compact disc changer physically damaged or misaligned; any controls inoperative
^ Antenna and two-piece antenna cable or electric antenna physically damaged or misaligned
^ Radio speakers mounting/speaker cones physically damaged or misaligned
^ Radio ignition interference capacitor, radio frequency interference suppression bond and radio receiver hood bonding strap misaligned, corroded and/or loose
Electrical
^ Central Junction Box (CJB) F55 (10 A)
^ CJB F42 (7.5 A)
^ CJB F40 (20 A)
^ Damaged connectors
^ Damaged ignition switch
^ Circuitry open/shorted/corroded
^ Damaged audio unit
3. If the fault is not visually evident, proceed to Speaker Walk-Around Test and ACM Self-Diagnostic Mode (T100i DM or P100i only). Component Tests and General Diagnostics Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
