Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation

The roof opening panel system consists of:
^ roof opening panel switch
^ roof opening panel glass
^ roof opening panel shield
^ trough assembly
^ roof opening panel motor
^ roof opening panel drain hoses
^ roof opening panel seaming welt
^ roof opening panel air deflector

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
Power to the roof opening panel switch is supplied by the power window relay. The power circuit to the power window relay is protected by an in-line circuit breaker. When the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the power window relay is energized by the Smart Entry Control (SEC)/timer module.

Due to the high electrical current requirements, the roof opening panel motor power is supplied by a separate fuse.

When the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position, the roof opening panel will still operate for approximately fifteen minutes, due to the delayed power operation function of the SEC/timer module.
