Inspection

CAUTION: Do not use a caustic cleaning solution or a wire brush to clean the pistons or damage may occur.





1. NOTE: If wear marks or polishing are found on the piston skirt, check for a bent or twisted connecting rod.

Inspect the pistons.
1. Inspect the ring lands.
2. Inspect the piston skirts for marks or polishing.
3. Inspect the pin bosses.
4. Inspect the piston tops.





2. Using the special tool, clean the piston ring grooves.
- Make sure the oil ring holes are clean.
