Fluorescent Oil Additive Method

Use the 12 Volt Master UV Diagnostic Inspection Kit to carry out an oil leak diagnosis as follows:
1. Clean the exterior engine surfaces with a suitable solvent to remove all traces of oil.
2. Drain the engine oil crankcase and refill with a recommended oil, premixed with Dye-Lited, part of 164-R0756 or equivalent meeting Ford specification ES12-M99C-A. Use a minimum 15 ml. (12 oz) to a maximum 30 ml. (1 oz) of fluorescent additive. If oil is not premixed, fluorescent additive must be added to crankcase first.
3. Run the engine for 15 minutes. Stop the engine and inspect all seals and gasket areas for leaks using an oil leak detector. A clear bright yellow or orange area will identify the leak. For extremely small leaks, several hours with the engine running may be required for the leak to appear.
4. Repair all leaks as necessary.
