Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Vehicle Damage Warnings

WARNING: Never run the engine with one wheel off the ground, for example, when changing a tire. The wheel resting on the ground could cause the vehicle to move.

WARNING: Retighten lug nuts at 800 km (500 miles) after any wheel change or any time the lug nuts are loosened. Failure to retighten lug nuts at the mileage specified could allow wheels to come off while the vehicle is in motion, possibly causing loss of vehicle control and collision.

WARNING: Each individual axle, wheel and tire has its own maximum weight or inflation rating. Do not overload or overinflate beyond the capacity of the lowest rated component of the system.

WARNING: The temporary spare tire is provided only for temporary emergency use. Do not use as a regular tire. Service and replace the regular tire as soon as possible. Any continuous road use of this temporary, emergency tire may result in tire failure, loss of vehicle control, and possible injury to the vehicle occupants.

WARNING: Do not mix different types of tires on the same vehicle such as radial, bias, or bias-belted tires except in emergencies (temporary spare usage), because vehicle handling may be seriously affected and may result in loss of control.

CAUTION: Do not clean aluminum wheels with steel wool, abrasive-type cleaners or strong detergents. Use Custom Bright Metal Cleaner 8A-19522-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESR-M5B194-B.

CAUTION: Reduce the air pressure as much as possible by pushing the valve core plunger in prior to removing the valve core.
