Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) - Federal

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.







3. Remove the HO2S.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
^ Apply a light coat of High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant F6AZ-9L494-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M12A4-A to the threads.
^ When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
