System Readiness Test Access
All On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD II) scan tools should display the System Readiness Test (SRT). The SRT will display the supported monitors on the vehicle and the status of all tests (complete or not complete) at that time. If any test is not complete, the scan tools will identify which test has not completed. Fuel, misfire and comprehensive components are continuous tests and won't display complete or not complete.Using a New Generation STAR (NGS) Tester
1. Perform the necessary vehicle preparation and visual inspection.
2. Connect New Generation STAR (NGS) to On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD II) Data Link Connector (DLC).
3. Turn key ON or start vehicle.
4. Select VEHICLE & ENGINE SELECTION menu (OPTIONAL).
5. Select NEW VEHICLE YEAR & MODEL.
6. Select year, engine, model with the appropriate qualifier, if needed (i.e., transmission, 49 state, California).
7. Follow operating instructions from the menu.
8. Select GENERIC OBD II FUNCTIONS.
- Press TEST button to display SRT.
NOTE: If all the tests are not complete, the SRT will automatically be displayed along with the following message: "NOT ALL SUPPORTED ON BOARD SYSTEM READINESS TESTS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED".
9. Select ON-BOARD SYSTEM READINESS.
