Control Module: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.





2. Disconnect the module electrical connectors.
1 Disconnect the smart entry control/timer (SEC) timer module connectors.
2 Disconnect the TCM connectors.





3. Remove the TCM bracket bolts.





4. Remove the TCM/SEC Timer module assembly.
^ Disconnect the harness clip.





5. Remove the SEC timer module from the TCM.

Installation





1. NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
