A: Air Bag Warning Indicator Is Illuminated Continuously
Normal OperationNOTE: During normal operation the air bag indicator will be lit continuously for seven seconds after the ignition switch is placed in the RUN position, and after five cycles of a Lamp Fault Code (LFC) if a fault exists. Be sure to cycle the ignition switch and look for a seven second indicator prove-out without LFCs.
Possible Causes
An air bag indicator that is illuminated continuously could be caused by the following:
- the battery or ignition circuit is damaged.
- the air bag diagnostic monitor is disconnected from the vehicle.
- a loss of air bag diagnostic monitor ground circuits.
- the air bag diagnostic monitor is inoperative.
