Reverse Idler Gear

Disassembly





1. Disassemble the reverse idler gear.
1. Remove the reverse idler gear retaining ring.
2. Remove the spacer.
3. Remove the reverse idler gear and bushing.
4. Remove the reverse idler gear bearing.
5. Remove the reverse idler gear thrust washer.

Assembly





1. Assemble the reverse idler gear.
1. Install the reverse idler gear thrust washer.
2. Install the reverse idler gear bearing.
3. Install the reverse idler gear and bushing.
4. Install the spacer.
5. Install the drive belt.





2. Measure the reverse idler gear cud play.





Reverse Idler Gear Retaining Rings

- If end play is not within specification, install a retaining ring of proper thickness.
