Installation

Special Tools:

1. Install the 5.0L Lifting Brackets.
2. Install the Spreader Bar on the 5.0L Lifting Brackets.





3. Install a suitable engine lifting sling to the Spreader Bar and position it around the crankshaft pulley to support the front of the engine, and install the engine.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.





5. Install the RH motor mount nuts.





6. Install the LH motor mount nuts.
7. Install the exhaust manifolds.
8. Connect the lower radiator hose.





9. Install the oil bypass filter.
10. Connect the low oil level sensor electrical connector.
11. Connect the brake booster vacuum supply line at the LH rear upper intake connection.





12. Connect the transmission bulk head connector.





13. Connect the RH heated oxygen sensor (H02S) electrical connector.





14. Connect the LH H02S electrical connector.
15. Install the transmission inspection cover, torque converter nuts, and transmission to engine.
16. Install the starter motor.





17. Connect the transmission cooler lines to the retainer by the RH engine mount.





18. Install the battery to starter relay cable to the retainer on the engine front cover.





19. Connect the ground cable to the engine front cover.





20. Connect the ground strap to the rear of the lower intake manifold.





21. Connect the ground cable to the engine front cover.





22. Install the power steering cooler.
23. Install the transmission fill tube.
24. Lower the vehicle.





25. Connect the heater water hoses.





26. Connect the engine bulk head connector.





27. Connect the powertrain control module (PCM) connector and the body ground connector.





28. Install the accelerator and speed control (if equipped) cables to the clip.





29. Install the accelerator cable bracket.
1 Install the bracket.
2 Install the bolt.





30. Install the lower accelerator cable bracket nut.





31. Install the accelerator cable bracket nut.





32. Connect the accelerator and speed control (if equipped) cables to the throttle linkage.





33. Install the accelerator control snow shield.





34. Connect the LH side vacuum connection.





35. Connect the RH side vacuum connection.





36. Position the lower steering column shaft and install the bolt.





37. Connect the vapor management valve (VMV) hose.
38. Connect the fuel lines.





39. Connect the wide-open A/C cutoff switch electrical connector.





40. Install the generator.
1 Position the generator.
2 Install the bolts.





41. Install the nut on the generator stud.





42. Connect the generator electrical connectors.





43. Install the bracket and the bolts.
44. Install the A/C compressor.





45. Position the spark plug wire bracket and install the nut.





46. Position the power steering pump and install the bolts.





47. Install the rear power steering pump bolt.





48. Install the power steering reservoir and the bolts.





49. Connect the upper radiator hose.
50. Install the fan blade.
51. Install the accessory drive belt.
52. Install the A/C condenser core.
53. Install the air cleaner outlet tube.
54. Install the battery.
55. Fill the engine with Super Premium SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
56. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system.
57. Recharge the A/C system.
58. Install the hood.
