P0180 - Fuel Temperature Sensor Circuit Malfunction
The fuel tank temperature sensor circuit is monitored by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The test fails when an excessively high or low voltage is sent to the PCM from the fuel tank temperature sensor or a rationally incorrect voltage is sent to the PCM, compared to the voltage signals from the engine coolant temperature sensor and the intake air temperature sensor.Possible Causes:
^ The fuel tank temperature sensor circuit is open or shorted
^ The fuel tank temperature sensor
Diagnostic Aids:
The fuel tank temperature sensor should have a resistance reading of 2.3 - 2.7 kohms at 20°C (68°F).
