P0300 - Random Misfire Detected

The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor circuit is monitored by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The test fails if a fluctuation is detected by the PCM from the data received from the CKP sensor.

Possible Causes:
^ Improper spark plugs
^ Insufficient compression
^ Incorrect fuel pressure
^ An injector circuit is open or shorted
^ Injectors
^ Intake air leak
^ Lack of fuel
^ The ignition secondary circuit is open or shorted
^ Drive plate
^ Front HO2S
^ Incorrect distributor rotor

Diagnostic Aids:
Perform a cylinder balance test. All cylinders should respond.
