P0446 - EVAP Emission Control System Vent Malfunction

The Evaporative Emission (EVAP) vent control valve signal return circuit is monitored by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The test fails when an improper signal is sent to the PCM through the EVAP vent control valve.

Possible causes:
^ EVAP vent control valve circuit shorted or open
^ EVAP vent control valve

Diagnostic Aids:
When the EVAP canister is commanded on air should pass freely through the EVAP vent control valve.
