P1444 - EVAP Emission Control System Canister Purge Valve

The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor, Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor, ignition switch, Throttle Position (TP) sensor, idle switch, front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S-11), fuel tank temperature sensor, and Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) circuits are monitored by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The test fails when canister purge flow is detected during specified driving conditions, even when Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve is completely closed.

Possible Causes:
^ EVAP pressure sensor
^ EVAP canister purge valve is stuck open
^ EVAP canister vent valve
^ EVAP canister
^ Hoses are incorrectly connected or clogged

Diagnostic Aids:
Remove the vacuum line between the EVAP canister and the EVAP canister purge valve at the EVAP canister purge valve, with the key ON and engine running at idle, there should not be any vacuum at the vacuum line.
