Hood Latch Release: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the hood latch.
2. If equipped, remove the mud flap.







3. Remove the splash shield.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Remove the pin-type retainers
3 Remove the splash shield.
4. Release the hood release cable locators in the inner fender opening.
5. Remove the LH scuff plate.
6. Remove the LH A-pillar lower trim panel.







7. Remove the hood release handle and cable assembly.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the hood release handle and cable assembly.
^ Release the rubber grommet from the cowl side panel.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the hood release handle and cable.
^ Thread the hood release cable through the cowl panel opening and engage the locators in the inner fender.







2. Install the hood release handle.
1 Position the hood release handle.
2 Install the screws.
3. Install the LH A-pillar lower trim panel.
4. Install the LH scuff plate.







5. Install the splash shield.
1 Position the splash shield.
2 Install the pin-type retainers.
3 Install the screws.
6. If equipped, install the mud flap.
7. Install the hood latch.
