Electronic Instrument Cluster
REMOVAL1. Remove the driver side air bag module. Refer to Air Bag Systems.
2. Remove the passenger side air bag module. Refer Air Bag Systems.
3. Remove the inner instrument panel lower covers.
1 Remove the nuts.
2 Remove the screws.
3 Remove the inner instrument panel lower covers.
^ Disconnect the foot lamp electrical connectors.
4. Remove the audio unit.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Remove the audio unit.
^ Disconnect the electrical connectors.
5. Remove the climate control assembly.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Remove the climate control assembly.
^ Disconnect the electrical connectors.
6. If equipped, remove the CD changer.
1 Remove the four nuts.
2 Remove the CD changer.
^ Disconnect the electrical connector.
7. If equipped, disconnect the light sensor amplifier harness electrical connector through the glove compartment opening.
8. Position the steering column into the full-down position.
9. Place the transmission range selector lever into the 1 position.
10. Remove the headlamp switch finish panel.
^ Disconnect the electrical connectors.
11. Remove the instrument panel cluster finish panel.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Remove the instrument panel cluster finish panel.
^ Disconnect the electrical connectors.
12. Remove the instrument cluster screws.
13. Position the instrument cluster to allow access to the transmission range indicator.
14. Disconnect the transmission range indicator from the instrument cluster.
15. Remove the instrument cluster.
^ Disconnect the electrical connectors.
16. Remove the instrument panel steering column cover.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Remove the pin-type retainers.
3 Remove the instrument panel steering Column cover.
^ Disconnect the electrical connectors.
17. Remove the instrument panel steering column cover reinforcement.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the instrument panel steering column cover reinforcement.
^ Release the Data Link Connector (DLC).
18. Remove the lower heater duct screw.
19. Remove the screw and the heater duct.
20. Lower the steering column.
^ Remove the nuts to lower the steering column.
21. Disconnect the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) harness electrical connector.
22. Remove the LH instrument panel reinforcement nut.
23. Remove the lower LH instrument panel screw.
24. Remove the center LH instrument panel screw.
25. Remove the ashtray/cup holder bracket.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Remove the ashtray/cup holder bracket.
26. Remove the center RH instrument panel screw.
27. Remove the instrument panel screw through the passenger side air bag module opening.
28. Remove the instrument panel bolts through the glove compartment opening.
29. Remove the lower RH instrument panel screw.
30. Remove the instrument panel defroster opening grille assembly.
^ If equipped, disconnect the electrical connectors.
31. Remove the LH and RH windshield side garnish mouldings.
32. Remove the instrument panel cowl top screws and nut.
33. Remove the instrument panel.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the instrument panel.
2. Install the instrument panel cowl top nut and screws.
3. Install the LH and RH windshield side garnish moldings.
4. Install the instrument panel defroster opening grille assembly.
^ If equipped, connect the electrical connectors.
5. Install the lower RH instrument panel screw.
6. Install the instrument panel bolts through the glove compartment opening.
7. Install the instrument panel screw through the passenger side air bag module opening.
8. Install the center RH instrument panel screw.
9. Install the ashtray/cup holder bracket.
1 Position the ashtray/cup holder bracket.
2 Install the screws.
10. Install the center LH instrument panel screw.
11. Install the lower LH instrument panel screw.
12. Install the instrument panel reinforcement nut.
13. Connect the RKE harness electrical connector.
14. Install the steering column.
^ Install the nuts.
15. Position the heater duct and install the screw.
16. Install the lower heater duct screw.
17. Install the instrument panel steering column cover reinforcement.
^ Engage the DLC.
1 Position the instrument panel steering column cover reinforcement.
2 install the bolts.
18. Install the instrument panel steering column cover.
^ Connect the electrical connectors.
1 Position the instrument panel steering column cover.
2 Install the pin-type retainers.
3 Install the screws.
19. Position the instrument cluster and connect the electrical connectors.
20. Connect the transmission range indicator to the instrument cluster
21. Position the instrument cluster and install the screws.
22. Position the instrument cluster finish panel and install the screws.
23. Install the headlamp switch finish panel.
^ Connect the electrical connectors.
24. If equipped, connect the light sensor amplifier harness electrical connector through the glove compartment opening.
25. If equipped, install the CD changer.
^ Connect the electrical connector.
1 Position the CD changer.
2 Install the four nuts.
26. Install the climate control assembly.
^ Connect the electrical connectors.
1 Position the climate control assembly.
2 Install the screws.
27. Install the audio unit.
^ Connect the electrical connectors
1 Position the audio unit.
2 Install the screws
28. Install the inner instrument panel lower covers Connect the foot lamp electrical connectors.
1 Position the inner instrument panel lower covers.
2 Install the screws.
3 Install the nuts.
29. Install the passenger side air bag module. Refer to Air Bag Systems.
30. Install the driver side air bag module. Refer to Air Bag Systems.
