Maintenance: Service and Repair
JACKINGWARNING:
^ DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE WHEN JACKING THE VEHICLE. THE WHEELS CONTACTING THE GROUND COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO MOVE.
^ SUPPORT THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO PERFORMING ANY PROCEDURE REQUIRING THE VEHICLE TO BE JACKED OFF THE GROUND.
^ MAKE SURE THE JACK AND JACK STANDS ARE PROPERLY LOCATED TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM FALLING.
^ WHEEL CHOCKS SHOULD BE USED TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING AND FALLING OFF THE JACK.
Be sure that only the correct jacking and support locations are used at all times.
Jacking Points
WARNING: THE JACK PROVIDED WITH THE VEHICLE IS INTENDED TO BE USED ONLY IN AN EMERGENCY FOR CHANGING A DEFLATED TIRE. NEVER USE THE JACK FOR ANOTHER PURPOSE.
CAUTION: Under no conditions should the jack or chassis stand come in contact with the suspension components. Severe damage to the vehicle could result.
The front jacking point is located under the front frame crossmember behind the front bumper.
The rear jacking point is located under the center of the rear axle.
LIFTING
WARNING: CHECK FOR THE NECESSARY CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE UNDERBODY OF THE VEHICLE AND THE HOIST.
Be sure that only the correct lifting points are used at all times.
CAUTION:
^ The hoist must only contact the four vehicle lifting points.
^ Lifting the vehicle from points other than those specified may cause vehicle damage. Never lift the vehicle by the suspension components.
^ When using safety stands, position the front safety stands on the vehicle frame. Position the rear safety stands on the rear axle housing.
Be sure that only the correct support locations are used.
