Inspection and Verification

1. Verify the customer concern by checking the air bag indicator in the instrument cluster. Refer to Prove Out.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage using the chart.

3. If the concern is not visually evident, enter the system Diagnosis Mode.
4. If no DTCs are displayed in the Diagnosis Mode, proceed to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
5. If DTCs are retrieved, proceed to the Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor Fault Code Table. Diagnostic Trouble Code Tests and Associated Procedures
