Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Partially drain the coolant.







3. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.







4. Remove the ECT sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: If the ECT sensor is reused, apply Pipe Sealant with Teflon(R) D8AZ-19554-A meeting Ford specification ESR-M187-A to the threads.
